YOUTH NATIONAL TEAM INFORMATION

SDAHA is pleased to announce the continued participation in the Tier II National Tournament with USAHockey. Through the efforts of Doug Clark, SDAHA has organized a Youth U14 representative team for 2010. The Development Committee, and it’s National Tournament Sub-Committee, chaired by Doug, has put in place a process for further representation in tournaments, and for 2011 the Youth will field a U14 and a U16 team. Moreover, it is expected a Girls team at one of the levels will be fielded in the National Tournament process as well. That organization will run through the National Tournament Sub-Committee and interested individuals should contact Doug Clark.

For Youth players, initial participation at the Spring Camp in Watertown on 4/23 through 4/25 is required. Requirements for the girls’ participants has not been set although participation in the Spring Camp in Watertown 4/16 through 4/18 would be a good start.

GIRLS NATIONAL TEAM INFORMATION

Any girls interested in the National U14 or U16 team contact Jim Norton with any questions or just send in your entry to the Spring Development camp as soon as possible. We are planning on holding tryouts on April 16-18 in Watertown along with the Development camp.

Noelle Needham, South Dakota Girls Hockey Director, has appointed Jim to this position and he will coordinate this process for the girls hockey program. Noelle will be involved with the camp and team selections as well.

Jim is in the process of lining up volunteers as well as coaches for this process. If any coaches or parents would be interested in volunteering, please contact Jim ASAP as plans are being put in place now. We will need multiple volunteers to coordinate a program of this nature, so please consider helping out for the development of the girls hockey program in the SDAHA.
