Patrick Merrigan is key with two goals as Watertown Lakers BV out shoots to get a huge victory

In a blowout game, Watertown Lakers BV won against Aberdeen Cougars BV 9 - 2 at Watertown on Sunday. Watertown Lakers BV tallied up six goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. Watertown Lakers BV gained two straight goals in the second period and held on to its lead. In the final period Aberdeen Cougars BV outscored Watertown Lakers BV 2 to 1 however Watertown Lakers BV kept its lead, and won the game.

Watertown Lakers BV's Patrick Merrigan got two goals for Watertown Lakers BV. Getting started, Merrigan scored a shorthanded goal without any assistance in the second period. Steaming onward, Merrigan put the puck between the pipes in the third period. Colton Jordan assisted on this goal. Watertown Lakers BV's Joe Foley netted two goals for Watertown Lakers BV and also had one assist. Putting a first goal on the board, Foley put the puck between the pipes for a power play goal in the first period. Spencer Riddle got the assist on this goal. In addition, Foley lit the lamp in the first period with an assist from Mike Steska.

Watertown Lakers BV's Jordan Hamann turned away 12 shots for the win. Two goalies were in the crease for Aberdeen Cougars BV's loss. Aberdeen Cougars BV's Nick Dalchow had 18 saves on 21 shots. Aberdeen Cougars BV's Jon Loefke had only 9 saves on 15 shots on goal to get the loss.

Watertown Lakers BV extended their winning streak to three games and now has a record of 7-5. Aberdeen Cougars BV ended the game with a record of 0-10.
