Austin Wagner on fire with two goals as Oahe Capitals BV relies on offense to win the game

Oahe Capitals BV handed a loss to Sioux Falls Flyers BV 4 - 1 at Oahe on Saturday. Oahe Capitals BV chalked up one unanswered goal to take the lead in the first period. Both teams racked up one goal in the second period but Oahe Capitals BV kept the lead for the win. Sioux Falls Flyers BV were not able to answer back. In the final period Oahe Capitals BV scored two straight goals piling on and winning the game.

In the first period, things got going on the ice when Oahe Capitals BV's Cash Anderson got the puck past goalie Josh Jackson with assists from Austin Wagner and Alec Norwick with 11:11 left in the period. In the second period, next, Brandon Swenson put the biscuit over the goal line with an assist from Drew Leif with 12:17 left in the period, going further ahead. Sioux Falls Flyers BV got things going when Brandon Appeldorn lit the lamp with 11:39 left on the clock. Brextyn Burnette and Wyatt Nielsen got the assists on the goal. In the third period, Oahe Capitals BV's Austin Wagner scored an unassisted goal with 15:44 left in the period, going further ahead. Airing out the defense, Austin Wagner put the puck in the net without assistance with 12:35 left in the period, expanding their lead.

Showing off a strong stick, Austin Wagner netted two goals for Oahe Capitals BV and also had one assist. Cash Anderson and Brandon Swenson each contributed one goal for Oahe Capitals BV. Norwick and Leif each added one assist for Oahe Capitals BV.

Brandon Appeldorn added one goal for Sioux Falls Flyers BV.

Showing a super performance, Oahe Capitals BV's Kyle Mammenga had 18 saves to take the win. Sioux Falls Flyers BV's Josh Jackson blocked 29 out of 33 shots on goal and so suffered the loss.

Oahe Capitals BV was 2-for-13 on power plays.

Sioux Falls Flyers BV ended the game with a record of 12-2.
