Austin Lesnar hits a hat trick as Brookings Rangers PWB shoots well to shut down the other side

Shutting out the competition, Brookings Rangers PWB prevailed against Aberdeen Cougars PWB 13 - zip at Brookings Red on Sunday. Brookings Rangers PWB scored one goal to take the lead in the first period. Brookings Rangers PWB gained five straight goals in the second period and held on to its lead. The Brookings Rangers PWB defense took over in the final period. In the final period Brookings Rangers PWB scored seven consecutive goals adding to their overall lead and winning the game.

Turning in a great performance for Brookings Rangers PWB, Austin Lesnar scored the hat trick with three goals and also had one helper. With 3:33 left to play in the second period Lesnar scored a goal. Kaden Vugteveen got the assist on this goal. During the third period, with 13:18 left Lesnar put the puck between the pipes. Kaden Vugteveen assisted on this goal. Pushing forward, Brookings Rangers PWB's Lesnar put the puck between the pipes with 12:14 left in the third period. Sajen Perry got the assist on this goal. Brookings Rangers PWB's Joel Syrstad scored two goals for Brookings Rangers PWB. During the second period, with 9:06 left Syrstad put the biscuit over the goal line without any assistance. Piercing though the defense, Syrstad put the puck in the net without assistance with 5:52 left in the third period. Brookings Rangers PWB's Alex Kuck got two goals for Brookings Rangers PWB. Brookings Rangers PWB's Kuck scored an unassisted goal with 12:51 left in the first period. Next, Kuck lit the lamp with 1:15 left in the third period with assists from Austin Lesnar and Kaden Vugteveen.

Turning in a perfect performance, Brookings Rangers PWB's Royal Grindeland III turned away four shots to get the win. In goal, Aberdeen Cougars PWB's Caiden Frericks had just seven saves on 20 shots and got the loss.

Adding to their victory, Brookings Rangers PWB was 1-for-1 on power plays.

Aberdeen Cougars PWB finished the game with a record of 2-9.
