Matt Eng knocks a hat trick, Brookings Rangers BV scores four goals in the first, goes on to win, raises winning streak to 8 games

Brookings Rangers BV overcame Oahe Capitals BV 7 - 4 at Ft Pierre Expo on Friday. Brookings Rangers BV outscored Oahe Capitals BV four to two to take the lead at the end of the first period. As the second period unfolded, Brookings Rangers BV outscored their opponents by one goal and kept the lead. Both teams scored one goal in the third period but Brookings Rangers BV kept the lead for the win.

Leading the way to a win for Brookings Rangers BV, Matt Eng earned the hat trick with three goals in addition to two points. During the first period, with 9:15 left Eng put the biscuit over the goal line for a shorthanded goal with an assist from Caleb Bullington. Then Eng lit the lamp without assistance from team mates with 1:50 left in the first period. With 0:24 left to play in the second period Eng netted another goal with an assist from TJ Theodosopoulos. Brookings Rangers BV's Cory Roach made two goals for Brookings Rangers BV. Coming through for Brookings Rangers BV, Roach put the biscuit into the net with 3:07 left in the first period with assists from Trevor Puetz and Dylan Rittershaus. During the third period, with 2:21 left Roach scored a second goal with assists from Zach VanLiere and Dylan Rittershaus.

Brookings Rangers BV's Hunter Rowbotham made 20 saves to earn the win. Oahe Capitals BV's Kyle Mammenga had only 20 saves on 27 shots on goal and so suffered the loss.

Brookings Rangers BV added to their current win streak of seven games and ended up with a record of 15 wins and 2 losses. Oahe Capitals BV ended the game with a record of 13-4.
