TJ (Tyler) Nolan knocks the hat trick, Rushmore Thunder BV scores two goals in the first, goes on to win by a wide margin, extends streak of wins to 7 games

Winning by a large margin, Rushmore Thunder BV prevailed against Aberdeen Cougars BV 8 - 2 at Odde Ice Arena on Sunday. Rushmore Thunder BV outscored Aberdeen Cougars BV two to one to take the lead at the end of the first period. In the second period, Rushmore Thunder BV outscored Aberdeen Cougars BV four to one and kept the lead. It would prove to be too much for Aberdeen Cougars BV. In the final period Rushmore Thunder BV scored two unanswered goals adding to the margin of victory and winning the game.

Leading the way to a win for Rushmore Thunder BV, TJ (Tyler) Nolan earned the hat trick with three goals and also had one helper. Putting their initial points on the board, Nolan put the puck between the pipes for a power play goal in the second period. Brooks Mitzel and Tristen Leberknight assisted on this goal. During the second period, Nolan netted a power play goal. Mark Petereit and Alec Ryman assisted on this goal. During the third period, Nolan got an unassisted power play goal. In an excellent performance, Brooks Mitzel made two goals for Rushmore Thunder BV and also two assists. During the first period, Mitzel scored a goal with an assist from TJ (Tyler) Nolan. Piling on, Mitzel netted an unassisted power play goal in the third period.

Rushmore Thunder BV's Jason Walter stopped 15 shots for the win. Aberdeen Cougars BV's Nick Dalchow had just 18 saves on 26 shots and so suffered the loss.

Rushmore Thunder BV extended their winning streak to seven games and now has a record of 9-10. Aberdeen Cougars BV ended the game with a record of 2-16.
