In a tight contest, Watertown Lakers GJV beat Sioux Falls Flyers GJV 3 - 1 at Yankton on Sunday. Neither team got the puck past the goalie in the first period. Watertown Lakers GJV added three goals in the second period to break the tie and take the lead. In the third period Sioux Falls Flyers GJV scored one goal but it was too little too late and they ended up with the loss.

In the second period, Watertown Lakers GJV put points on the board with their game when Stephanie Kasten got a goal with 5:04 left on the clock. Samantha Nogelmier assisted on the goal. Watertown Lakers GJV kept up the momentum when Tiffany Hamann netted an unassisted goal with 2:28 left on the clock, expanding their lead. Firing more artillery, Watertown Lakers GJV's Elana Hoffman put the puck between the pipes with an assist from Stephanie Kasten with 1:38 left on the clock, adding to their lead. In the third period, Sioux Falls Flyers GJV's Hanna Mutschelknaus put the biscuit over the goal line without any assistance with 11:31 left in the period.

Stephanie Kasten made one goal for Watertown Lakers GJV and also had one assist. Elana Hoffman and Tiffany Hamann each added one goal for Watertown Lakers GJV. Nogelmier tallied one assist for Watertown Lakers GJV.

Hanna Mutschelknaus tallied one goal for Sioux Falls Flyers GJV.

Showing off a strong glove, Watertown Lakers GJV's Stacey Dunbar had 10 saves on 11 shots to gain the win. Sioux Falls Flyers GJV's Brittany Corcoran stopped 18 out of 21 shots for the loss.

Watertown Lakers GJV extended their winning streak to 10 games and now has a record of 20 wins and 2 losses. Sioux Falls Flyers GJV finished the game with a record of 13 wins and 11 losses.
