Rushmore Thunder BJV Takes Down Sioux Falls Flyers JV White 7-1

Mason Phelps slaps two goals and Rushmore Thunder BJV puts up the shots to dominate the game, increases win-streak to 13 games

Winning by a large margin, Rushmore Thunder BJV prevailed over Sioux Falls Flyers JV White 7 - 1 at Pierre on Saturday. Rushmore Thunder BJV chalked up three goals to take the lead in the first period. Rushmore Thunder BJV gained three goals in the second period and held on to its lead. Both teams scored one goal in the third period but Rushmore Thunder BJV kept the lead for the win.

Rushmore Thunder BJV's Mason Phelps got two goals for Rushmore Thunder BJV. Rushmore Thunder BJV's Phelps put the biscuit into the net in the second period. Brendan Sorestad and Alex Connor assisted on this goal. Next, Phelps lit the lamp in the second period. Alex Connor and Anthony (Michael) Petrotto assisted on this goal. Rushmore Thunder BJV's TJ (Tyler) Nolan got two goals for Rushmore Thunder BJV and also had one point. Coming through for Rushmore Thunder BJV, Nolan put the biscuit over the goal line in the first period. Brooks Mitzel and Anthony (Michael) Petrotto assisted on this goal. Rushmore Thunder BJV pierced the defense when Nolan scored a shorthanded goal in the second period with assists from Steven Habib and Jack Taylor.

Displaying a golden glove, Rushmore Thunder BJV's Matt Woolever made 15 saves to earn the win. Two goalies were used by Sioux Falls Flyers JV White for the loss. Sioux Falls Flyers JV White's Robert Berndt had only 17 saves on 24 shots on goal to suffer the loss. Despite having a huge impact in the game, Sioux Falls Flyers JV White's Ryan Sztapka blocked eight out of eight shots on goal.

Rushmore Thunder BJV added to their current win streak of 12 games and ended the game with a record of 15-2. Sioux Falls Flyers JV White ended the game with a record of 12 wins and 6 losses.
